During her captivity by the LRA, Piloya Jennifer was often forced to carry heavy loads from place to place in the bush for the rebel group. She was able to escape in 2004 and has since been pursuing new opportunities and dreams. As a crocheter for KK Uganda, Jennifer is able to provide for her family for the first time in her life. She hopes to use the money that she earns in the program to see her children make it through the highest levels of education, something she was never given the opportunity to do.
