Elsa’s optimism is infectious – she is confident that with a little help and some time, she will be able to become the person she wants to be. Previously, she worked in a poultry plant to support her husband in earning the income they needed for the family. Elsa plans on using the knitting skills she’s learning in the program to someday open up a small knitting shop in her community.

“Cajamarca is a city in Peru that I love. There are still strong Incan traditions like making delicious guinea pig and spicy potatoes.”

“Playing with my older brothers when they didn’t have classes. I also fondly remember messing around in the kitchen with my mom. “

“That my daughter can go on to higher education and find a good career like an engineer.”

I've had a world's greatest beanie you made for a few years now and it is still my favorite. I'm sorry I hadn't taken the time to send my appreciation sooner.
I was looking at my tag the other day and it just made me smile to know someone took the time to make this item, which I cherish and take with me on adventures.

I received some fingerless gloves that you made last year for Christmas. I have very cold hands so I wear them all the time! They are my most favorite Christmas gift ever. I even bought another pair so I can have one pair and home and one at work. Thank you so much!!

Just received my World's Greatest Beanie! Thank you so much for making it for me. It will keep me warm as it gets colder here in Boston, MA! I'm a knitter myself, and I know how good it feels when someone appreciates what you make for them. So please know how much I appreciate the work you put into it! Best of luck in the future!

Dearest Elsa,

I received a pair of hand warmers you made from a dear aunt and they're absolutely lovely. I work as an artist and designer, and am constantly working with my hands so it's such an honor to know that as I create, the warmers which keep my hands going are made by such a talented and hardworking woman. I pray that you will be infinitely blessed and continue to thrive in peace.

Thank you!

Dear Elsa,

For my birthday, my boss gave me the hand warmers you made. They are very nice and soft, and I like them. It's cold now, so I'm wearing them as I write this note.

May God bless you in achieving your goals. I hope you can open your own weaving shop soon!

Thank you! <3
