Ayot Grace is the oldest of five children and remembers her childhood as being stable while her father was alive. Her father passed away when she was still in primary school, and that combined with the unrest caused by the war in northern Uganda meant that she was unable to continue in school past 4th grade. Since coming into the program Grace has been able to start saving and dreams of one day buying land to build on and farm. Grace loves crocheting because it’s a skill that gives her the means to meet the basic needs of her family.
