The war has greatly effected the course of Beatric’s life. While she was still in school, Beatrice was kidnapped and raped by a soldier while on her way to sleep at a local hospital, for fear of being abducted by the rebels. She became pregnant from the raping, later decided to live with the man who raped her and they now have three children. Times were tough during the height of the insurgency and she recalls being constantly hungry and worried if she would survive to the next day. Life has improved greatly for Beatrice, insuring safety and money for her household.
