Raised by a single mother during the war, Beatrice suffered a difficult childhood. Her father and mother divorced before Beatrice was born, and did not receive any support from her father. With only a mother’s small income, at the age of ten Beatrice and her siblings set out to look for work in gardens, and fetch water for people to earn a wage and help their mother. Today she feels at ease, and thankful that she and her children have access to health care and consistent meals.

Today I got the hat that you did.
I chose blue because I live in Venice, in Italy, and I will use it to get out by boat. And the hat has the same blue of my boat.
Here we use go sailing in spare time, because we have a beautiful lagoon, full of islands and history.
