After losing several relatives in the war, Stella fled from place to place looking for safety and couldn’t continue school as a result. She was required to work at a stone quarry making very little, and was often unable to fully provide the necessary need for her family. Since arriving at KK Uganda, Stella is now able to provide for her family and is saving money to send her children to school.

“I dream to buy a piece of land for my and my children and also to start my own business.”

“I love Acholi dances and songs and I love hanging out with my family.”

“Love means a feeling of compassion for each other regardless of where one comes from.”

I purchased a Lincoln bow tie for my son for his birthday. He likes to wear a shirt and tie to his hockey games in the winter. This bow tie is unlike anything else that he owns and he's very excited to wear it. Thank you so much!

Hello, Stella! I'm Ashley. Thank you so very much for making this wonderful hat! I bought it for myself for my 21st birthday, yesterday. I had been wanting one for quite a while, and when I saw this hat, I knew it was the perfect one! This purchase meant so much more knowing you had made it. I couldn't wait to look up your name so I could put a face to it. You are absolutely beautiful, by the way!! I'm in the process of learning to crochet myself, so hopefully one day I can learn to make beautiful things just like you! I will think about you, your family, and your children every single time I look at this hat. I wish so badly that one day you can buy that piece of land and send your children to school. I wish that all of your dreams come true. I'm going to keep looking for your hats!! I'd like to own another from you. :) Keep being strong, Stella! And once again, thank you.

Love and hugs all the way from Springfield, Ohio,

Alanyo Stella,

Thanks for making such a lovely hat. I had spent a couple months looking for the perfect hat. It's amazing that you can know how to prepare for the cold when you live in such a warm place! Hope you and your family meet their goals. I will be thinking of you through this holiday session in Boston, Masachusetts.

All the best, in peach no love,
