Akello Alice’s parents separated when she was very young and she later dropped out of school in order to search for her mother. Because her mother could not afford to educate her, Alice began working as a hairdresser, but constantly struggled to make ends meet. With the money that she now earns at KK Uganda, Alice is able to not only support herself but also a number of other friends who are in need. She hopes to build a house for herself and her family so that she can better care for those she loves.
