After her parents separated and her mother passed away, Ajok Stella lived with her grandmother, who cared for many orphaned children and relatives. Growing up in an environment where resources were scarce caused life to be difficult, and at age 12, Stella was given the responsibility of caring for the younger relatives. She was forced to drop out of school before marrying at the age of 18. Today, working for KNOWN SUPPLY has allowed Stella to dream of a better future, and she is saving her earnings to make her dreams come true.

i absolutely love the copper and cream striped beenie hat that you made for me. it's so soft and beautiful—it feels like a hug. and i get lots of compliments from total strangers whenever i wear it. i live in san francisco, california, where it can get cold even in the summertime, so i'll get to wear it all year long!
