Florence was born into a good, financially-stable family where her father worked as a prison warder. During the war in Northern Uganda, she was abducted by the rebels where she stayed in captivity for six months. Her family was dramatically affected by the war when some of her relatives were killed and some never returned home. Being apart of the KK Uganda program has given her the freedom and opportunity to feed her family and take care of their needs.
