Shortly after the birth of her second child, Acen Betty’s husband passed away and his family claimed guardianship of the children. After years of struggles, Betty has regained control of her family. With the money that she has earned working at KK Uganda, Betty was able to return to school and create a savings. She hopes to save enough to start her own business and eventually host a traditional marriage ceremony for her and her new husband.
